Kids clothes organization is something that every mom needs to know because it drives you nuts sometimes. The messy closet and drawers instantly spoil your mood. Sometimes several kids’ clothes sets remain unused due to placing the backside of the cabinet. At the end of the season, you find those sets and realize that they remain out of sight due to the clutter of clothes.

To keep your kids organized you should follow these basic tips:

  •  Keep kids’ daily routine clothes where they can reach them easily.
  • Keep casual clothes out of reach of kids.
  • The organizing system should be practical enough to follow for kids.
  • Don’t keep out-of-season clothes in kids’ closets.
  • For small pieces of clothes, boxing dividers, and organizers save a lot of time, energy, and frustration.

To understand these basic tips, let’s discuss each of them in detail. Let me tell you that organizing boys’ clothes are easier than toddler girls’ clothes. Boys have fewer items and are easy to fold. You will find a lot of content on the internet already that how to store, donate and throw away tips while sorting out the kid’s clothes. Here in this article, I m only discussing how to organize the kid’s clothes that they are currently using.

How do organize kids’ clothes so they can follow the organizing system easily?

You should teach your kids that change clothes on daily basis and you being a mom can organize them on weekly basis. There are many dividers where you can organize clothes weekly. You can use these 7-Grid Days dividers to arrange the school clothes and home clothes as well.

Teach your kids to fold their clothes by themselves. There are some folding boards that help kids in learning to fold shirts and sheets or blankets easily. Whenever you bring a pile of washed clothes, do fun exercise with your kid. You can ask your child to fold the clothes and you make a pile of folded clothes and place them in the closet or drawer.

Sometimes it happens that at the start of the season you buy clothes at once from a  Kids Wholesale Clothing store. You want to keep new clothes stay neater and flatter so that it does not disturb the creases of clothes. If you have cabinets to organize kids’ clothes, it is common that while searching for a specific shirt or pants, or shorts, kids unfold each set. No matter you fold it or roll it, Kids ruin all your settings and you need to rearrange the messy clothes again on weekly basis.

There should be a system that kids can easily follow. You can invest in some clothes boards organizers that work as a thin and flexible mini shelf allowing you to stack your t-shirts neatly and accessibly. Pull the desired clothing from the middle without disturbing the stack since each item is separated from the rest. These help in avoiding keeping jumbled piles of clothes. You can keep these dividers in drawers and cabinets as well.

There is no need to fold pants and shorts for kids. They unfold it, no matter how neatly you roll or fold them. When they open the closet or drawer, it is the nature of kids that they unfold some sets in order to decide whatever they want to wear. It is better to hang them so that they can easily see the colors and print of pants, pajamas, and shorts.

When it comes to organizing toddler girl clothes, a hanging rod is essential. You can keep boys’ clothes in dresser and drawers. But you can not fold frocks, skirts, and maxis because it ruins the crease of girls’ clothes. Moreover, it is also easy for girls to pick their favorite dress easily. You can install the rod so that they can reach it easily in a closet or on the room floor.

Besides the full sets of kids’ clothes, small pieces like underwear panties, inners, onesies, boxers, socks, and pajamas create the most clutter when they are not organized. If you keep them in bags, it makes it difficult to find the desired one. In case you make piles in the cabinet, whether you or your kids search for a specific pair of socks,  it ends up in a jumbled pile. So it is useless to fold these tiny pieces.

The most efficient way to organize them is to put them in boxes or dividers unfolded.  Keep washed and new sets in separate boxes. Do the same with underwear panties, inners, high necks, onesies, and pajamas. In this way, you and your kids can easily bring the box out, keep the washed clothes in it, and put it back into the closet.

Beyond the larger life lessons, it is said clutter has negative impacts on kids’ everyday lives. According to recent study kids living in more cluttered homes had more trouble regulating their emotions. Organizing the kids’ clothes is overwhelming, but you can convert it into a fun exercise if you invest in some organizers that save a ton of your time. Above all, it develops the habit in your kids at a very early age to stay organized and keep the clutter away.
